Hazel is the Chief Executive of Cornerstone, one of Scotland’s leading Third Sector social care organisations. She began her career as a frontline carer, later qualifying as a mental health nurse and earning a postgraduate degree in community care from the University of Glasgow. Her career spans both the statutory and private sectors, but for the past 20 years, Hazel has dedicated herself to the third sector, where she finds her values most closely aligned.
Throughout her career, Hazel has developed extensive expertise in governance, change management, leadership, and turnaround strategies. She is deeply committed to making a difference in the lives of those in need of social care.
Hazel is also passionate about the work of Cruse Scotland, having personally benefited from their services during times of loss. She lives on the west coast of Scotland with her dog Ruby, and enjoys spending time with her two grown daughters and recently arrived granddaughter.
